The motor oil galley consists of a series of very small holes that connect the oil pump to the main bearings, crankshaft bearings, cam bearings and hydraulic valve lifters.

The hydraulic hose is connected to the motor oil galley where the pressure-sending unit enters the block.

When the motor is running the solenoid valve is open and oil is pumped into the accumulator compressing the air inside.

And when the key is turned off the pressurized oil is trapped and ready to pre lube the motor on the next startup.

The next time you turn the key on, oil is instantly returned to the galley to pressurize it just as though the oil pump was running.
